Capabilities & Featured Processes

Engineering Product design, 3D modeling, Predictive mold-flow software

Custom Cable Supporting numerous environments, TDY Storm manufactures Industrial grade wire and cable suitable for extreme enviroments. Our engineered materials and contructions render our wire and cable suitable for high temperature, abrasion resistant, chemical and heat resistant, and flexible for articulating joints.

Termination and Assembly

Utilizing our internally manufactured cable, TDY Storm can complete the termination and assembly to any connector (crimp, solder, IDC, or weld):

Prop 3

  • Round Circular MIL (Stainless Steel, Brass, Aluminum, Anodized, or Plastic)
  • Rectangular
  • D-Sub, Firewire, or USB
  • Copper-Fiber
  • Electro-Mechanical
  • Coaxial

Solid Molded Cables

In addition to mechanical backshells, TDY Storm has the capability to solid mold (injection or pour mold) to any connector type. Proven engineering techniques are used to protect and strengthen the connector body and interface. We carry a full line of mold tool designs:

Prop 4

  • Round circular MIL molds from shell size 8-36 (linear and right angle)
  • Breakout configurations from 2 to 6 legs
  • Various connector styles, such as RJ-45s, Firewire, USB, and coaxial
  • Solid strain relief and flexible bend relief
  • Cable diameters from .100" to 2"

Should your application require a custom design, our in-house mold tool design team can engineer a solution for your application no matter what the connector or breakout.

150° Service Cable This insulating and jacket material is targeted for applications where heat and oil resistance exceeeds traditionlly processed thermoplastics. Rubber like flexibility down to -40°C and heat stabilized rated at 1000 hours at 150°C, this material replaces traditional cross-linked rubber at a significantly lower cost.
